To the Forgotten is a project initiated by the association teta & teta and organized by the Federico García Lorca Center and the Federico García Lorca Foundation, in collaboration with Obra Social de La Caixa.
This project is a feminist, poetic, and cultural initiative that aims to bring books donated to the inmates in the Spanish prison system and strives to generate reflection and debate about a community invisible to society.
The idea is to bring books donated by people in Granada to the inmates at Albolote Prison. SThus, a concert-recital of Soleá Morente and the micropoet Ajo will be held at the Federico García Lorca Center, at 8 pm on Thursday, February 20, 2020. The requirement to access the concert-recital will be to donate a book at the entrance. The following day the books will be delivered to the prison library and taken to the women’s wards. A meeting will be held with the women to inform them about the initiative and ask them to discuss the power of books as a way (among others) to transcend their reality. The meeting will be followed by a live microshow by the poet/performer Ajo and the singer Soleá Morente.
